Stock shortages are becoming more and more of an issue for a lot of customers throughout the UK.

Many customers are having to face increasing lead times and rocketing costs due to the shortages of the goods they need/have ordered.

We believe that customers shouldn't have to put up with these shortages.  There are several reasons why:

  • Your supplier has access to a wide range of different manufacturers and supply chains where they will be able to source products that provide the same function/appearance.
  • Not having access to the right product can have serious safety implications for a number of reasons
  • In some cases, this can lead to a higher risk of injury and/or incidents.  These have serious costs for the organisation but more importantly for the personnel involved.

In an ideal you should be working with a supplier who is up-front and engages in meaningful conversation about the state of their supply chains and stock availabilities. This discussion should include suitable replacements and how they would/should perform in your application.

This will mean that you’ll have more control over what products you’re using and have access to.

One other way to work around the effects of stock shortages is to set up a stocked guarantee with your supplier where your catalogue of products is held in agreed volumes for instant access at the supplier's warehouse.  Get in touch with a member of our team today to have a chat about how you can set this up.
