Choosing outer layers, like coats and overtrousers, for your team is a really important factor in their overall comfort and productivity.

The right coat will keep your workers dry, warm and comfortable. The wrong garment will cause your workers to be overheated, sweaty and could restrict movement.

To help you get the best product here’s a few questions you can ask yourself.

Do you need your garment to be hi-vis?

If your operatives need to be quickly and easily seen then you should definitely get clothing that is hi-vis (or rated to EN ISO 20471).  We have a large collection of hi-vis garments to suit a variety of different budgets.

Does the garment need to be breathable?

If your workers are moving a lot throughout the working day or if they need to wear a coat during the spring/summer months then a breathable coat is a must.  Breathable coats allow moisture from the inside of a garment to “wick” away and keep workers dry at all times.  You can often get breathable coats that interact with other garments like fleeces or soft-shells so that you can layer up in the winter months to keep warm.

What kind of coat do you need?

The term “coat” covers a lot of different options.  Do you need a bomber jacket for increased movement and flexibility or do you want a traffic (or site) jacket for its increased water deflection and interactivity with other mid-layers?  Alternatively, you could go for a Blouson Jacket, for its lightweight comfort or a 3-in-1 Jacket for the extra flexibility and adaptability that they offer.

Do you need your garment to be “decorated”?

We always recommend that our customers go for heat-seal logo application on their coats.  Heat-seal logos and text do not interfere with the coats wet or cold protection like an embroidery does and is more cost-effective than screen-printing.
