We are delighted to announce that following a full tender process, PK Safety has been awarded the Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and Clothing contract for Dorset Council.

The tender process was thorough and highlighted Dorset Council’s commitment to providing a sustainable, safe, and cost-effective solution to protecting their employees from health and safety risks whilst at work.

As part of the tender process, Dorset Council placed emphasis on its sustainability responsibilities and plans for the future. We were able to highlight our own commitment to sustainability through our ISO 14001 accreditation (which we have held for 12 consecutive years), along with our ambitious plans to be Carbon Neutral by 2030.

Through the lifetime of the contract, PK Safety will also offer a garment & PPE recycling service that combines the best security and brand management with excellent landfill diversion and environmental deliverables. Based on the specifications of the tender, we have estimated that by using this recycling service Dorset Council will save roughly 7.7 tonnes of CO2 per annum.

Through our BSIF (British Safety Industry Federation) and RSSS (Registered Safety Supplier Scheme) memberships, and our ISO 9001 accreditation, we were also able to demonstrate our commitment to providing PPE and workwear to the highest safety standards: a non-negotiable element to the contract.

Our industry knowledge of the Local Authority Sector, along with our online ordering solution and in-house garment decoration team were all factors that contributed to the success of this tender process.
